Last night at the monthly Upper Merion Township Board of Supervisors meeting, members of Upper Merion Township Fire and EMS were honored for Years of Service, Firefighter of the Year and EMS Provider of the Year.

Last night our very own Firefighter John Direnzo was honored as the 2025 Bernard S. Gutkowski Firefighter of the Year! This award is named in honor of one of our founding members. John over the last few years has become a regular responder. On top of responding to calls, John has helped out with training and mentoring newer members. John also brings a wealth of knowledge when it comes to diesel mechanics, lifting, and rigging.

In addition the following members were honored for their Years of Service last night;
