By Assistant Chief Matthew Curll
January 7, 2024

Last night shortly after 9:30 PM, Upper Merion Twp Fire and EMS, along with units from Bridgeport and Norristown Fire Departments were dispatched to the 600 Blk of Crossfield Rd. In the Cannon Run neighborhood for smoke coming from a dwelling. FM56-1 (Daywalt) arrived to confirm smoke showing from the roof on all sides. DC56-3 (Recupido) arrived and assumed command. Engine 56-1 (King of Prussia Vol. Fire Co.) was first arriving, established a water supply and stretched an attack line.

Squirt, Rescue 56-3 and Traffic 56 responded from Swedesburg. Upon their arrival, Squirt 56 established a second water supply and stretched a third attack line into the dwelling. The crew of Squirt 56 also conducted searches of the structure. Rescue 56-3 arrived and set up for cascade duties, refilling approximately 20 SCBA cylinders. Traffic 56 assisted with traffic and crowd control around the scene. In total, 14 members responded from Swedesburg. Swedesburg units were clear of the scene by midnight.
