This weekend members worked with the American Red Cross in the Sweet Briar area of the township doing another Smoke Detector Blitz. Members helped install 119 smoke detectors in the area which undoubtedly will save lives and make Upper Merion safer. Shortly before 3am Swedesburg Fire Company was dispatched to Bridgeport Borough for a structure fire that was upgraded to a 2nd alarm fire. The Board of Community Assistance was established in 2013 through a partnership between Upper Merion Township and the Valley Forge Casino Resort.
